WHO is spoiling your children rotten?
Maybe it is friends, parents or even grandparents.
As part of Dental Health Week, Family Dental Care dentist Dr Matthew White and Jesse the Tooth Fairy were out in Campbelltown last week educating children about the importance of tooth decay.
“In 2006 we realised there was a need for oral health education to children in the Macarthur area,” Dr White said.
“We purchased costumes, puppets and have developed our own teaching tools for various ages. We also give out tooth brushes and tooth- paste in goodie bags.”
Dr White is a huge supporter of a new digital media resource for parents and carers to help prevent tooth decay in babies, toddlers and infants.
Protecting Tiny Teethis an initiative of the Australian Dental Association with support from the Centre for Oral Health Strategy in the NSW Ministry of Health.
“Children should only eat five times a day ‒ breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner‒ and not snack between meals,” Dr White said.
